San Mateo County is fortunate to have many wonderful, award-winning public schools serving thousands of local students and their families.

As a parent and former school trustee and councilmember, I know first-hand the value of excellent schools in our communities. While I served on the Pacifica School Board, I helped manage challenging budgets while improving student performance and the modernization of every district school -- on time and on budget.

Beyond my public service, I have volunteered for my local PTOs, Scouting America, Soccer Coach, Boys and Girls Club and the San Mateo County Historical Association.

I am running for the Trustee Area 5 seat on the San Mateo County Board of Education to ensure that our schools continue to provide a great education to all.

The Board of Education oversees programs supporting local districts providing services that can be done more efficiently and economically at the county level. This includes reviewing local school district budgets; staff development and training programs; designing business and personnel systems; special and career technical education and more.

With years of experience overseeing district and city finances and programs, I am eager to lend my expertise and knowledge to the San Mateo County Board of Education.
